Recovering deleted files?
Well long story short my brother deleted my entire account off of my computer. I have made a new account but the old one had loads of photo's/music. I was wondering if there is anyway to recover my lost files? Any help is greatly appreciated.
There are many programs available to do this, one of my favourites in O&O Unerase. Most of these cost money, but if you are willing to pay, then it is worth it. The other important thing to do is to not save any new files on your computer. The more your computer saves, including browsing data, emails and temporary data, the less of your old files there will be left.
When files are deleted, the computer just forgets about them. They are still on the hard drive, and can still be accessed, but they are not recognized by the computer as existing. As you make new files and data, the computer will save these to the hard drive, wiping sections of the 'forgotten' data away to make space. You can never really delete something from a computer, just write over it. The more of a deleted file remains intact, the more chance of recovery there is. Most software will be able to piece together small gaps, but larger ones will render datae unrecoverable.
