Is it possible to recover deleted photos from my camera?

The thing is, I deleted the photos from my digital camera, not the computer. I tried using recovery software but they only showed those I deleted from the computer. Is it possible to recover the photos? If no, does that mean that digital cameras do a clean wipe of the photos when you delete from them? Thanks. :)

  2. Have you connected your digital camera(specifically speaking, the SD card where your photos were stored) to the computer?
When you are using the recovery software to scan the deleted photos, make sure that it could scan your SD card. Usually, the software can provide you the choice to choose which disk to scan. Once you choose the SD card, you can see whether your photos are recoverable after the scanning process.
If the deleted photos from SD card are not seen, I am sorry to say that your photos are maybe overwritten or corrupted. If they can be seen, but cannot recovered, you have to check whether you are using the trial version of the recovery software, which can let you preview the effects, but you have to buy it in order to save them.
Here is a professional one recommended:
    http://www.disk-utilities.com/photo-recovery/
The raw recovery there can deeply scan your computer to recover your lost photos, and the trial version can let you preview the effects.
    Good luck!

  3. If you have a card reader you probably can, if you haven't taken any more pictures using that same card.
I answered the same question elsewhere.
I’ve used the free EASEUS Partition Master Home Edition with great success:

DO NOT use the memory card in question anymore until you recover the deleted files or you will overwrite them.
There are a lot of recovery tools out there. Some are paid, some free. The one above is the one I prefer among the free ones.

  4. I have used this free program... Download the program http://www.recuva.com? You must not take anymore pictures on your card. Do you have a card reader either on your computer or an external USB card reader? I have used a card reader and this program. Put the card in the card reader, open the recuva program, the welcome to the recuva wizard will open, click on next. next box, choose 'pictures', click on next, next box choose 'on my media card' click next. See the words 'enable deep scan' click on start. Wait, for it to do it's magic.

You need to use a card reader either one already in your computer (some have one, some don't). Or buy an external USB card reader. They are around 10.00 and can be found at walmart, bestbuy, frys, probably target.
The problem with built in card readers is that they will usually only read up to a 2G card.

I was not able to recover photos by hooking the camera up to the pc with the usb cord, it just won't work.

This is the important part. Choose the pics you want to recover, then choose recover, a box comes up asking where you want to save to. Choose documents/my pictures or wherever you want to save your pictures too. The pictures ONLY save to your pc and not the card.

I'm assuming you are using windows xp or vista, I don't know about mac or win7.
